This Mercedes-AMG G 63 Gold Edition Looks Like It Should Be Locked in a Safe
This former Mercedes-AMG G 63 by Mansory has lost its identity along the way. The tuning house now calls it the Mansory P820 EWB Gold Edition and is for sale in the land of the rich: the United Arab Emirates.

It sounds like the perfect habitat for the golden off-roader, capable of dune-bashing and looking good while at it. It has just the shade of the desert sand, so it would perfectly blend in.

And it's not all muscle and force in the iconic G 63. The Mansory P820 does all that while transporting (or mixing up) occupants in extreme luxury.

The tuner converted the legendary G into this aggressively looking, yet elegantly crafted motorized beast. To confirm the intimidating stance, Mansory fitted it with huge 24-inch FD.15 forged wheels in gold to match the rest of the vehicle. They wear tires measuring 295/30R24 all around.

However, the Mansory website shows P820 examples wearing wheels with various other finishes for those who think that an all-gold car might be a bit too flashy.

The hood can also get various looks. It can either be painted in gold or it can be exposed carbon fiber. Either way, there is a massive scoop helping the engine breathe out the heat.

Speaking of which, the 4.0-liter biturbo engine of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 has been tweaked. In the stock G 63, it generates 577 horsepower (585 metric horsepower). But in the P820, it goes all the way to 809 horsepower (820 metric horsepower).

That is enough for an acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in just 3.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155 mph (250 kph).

The cabin is dipped in gold and opulence, packed up with carbon fiber. This luxury lounge is a confirmation that the Mercedes left all its workhorse personality far behind for a life of greatness in the United Arab Emirates.

Customers can choose from various options of leather, trims, and colors for the deluxe interior. A starlight headliner, like the example in Dubai features, is also available.

It is an interior that got no extra space, even though Mansory significantly extended the wheelbase, hence the "EWB" lettering. They added 7.9 inches (20 centimeters) between the C and D pillars for a super spacious trunk.

An armored version of the Mansory P820 EWB Gold Edition is also available. The model is for sale in a dealership in Dubai, where it literally outshines all the supercars that sit on the showroom floor.

Earlier this month, Mansory introduced the P900 EWB Gold Edition. That one also came with an extended luxury, while the V8 pumps out 887 horsepower (900 metric horsepower). Acceleration time and top speed are identical to those of its more "modest" sibling, the P820: 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
