2025 Audi Q5
The 2025 Audi Q5 has arrived. The third generation has been redesigned, has a new cabin and updated tech, and sits on a new platform. The flagship SUV will be sold in two variants in the United States.

After more than 15 years on the market, the third-generation Audi Q5 seems to know exactly what customers want and is hard at work to provide, ready to set some rules in the mid-size SUV segment.

Audi has prepared two engines for the American lineup of the 2025 Q5. The 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine rolls out 268 horsepower. A seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission puts the power down through all four wheels with the help of the quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The other powertrain, putting in motion the range-topping SQ5, is the one integrating the 3.0-liter six-cylinder TFSI unit with 362 horsepower and the same setup as the 2.0-liter version. None of the two has any electrification involved. Meanwhile, all European models will feature a mild-hybrid system with a 1.7-kWh battery and a 24-horsepower electric motor.

The SUV now sits on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, which, the automaker claims, makes it more comfortable and easier to handle. Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD), combined with the standard steel suspension and an air suspension with adaptive damper controls, are available in the lineup. The enhanced progressive steering is offered as standard.

The passenger display can go into Privacy mode and turn black
The 2025 Audi Q5 comes with a curved free-standing display, which integrates the 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and the 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen, running on the Android Automotive OS.

The head-up display comes from extra money, and so does the 10.9-inch display with Dynamic Privacy shutter technology, sitting in front of the passenger. With the Dynamic Privacy mode activated, all that the driver can see is a black screen.

The driver will benefit from the presence of the standard flat-bottomed steering wheel with no physical controls whatsoever. The controls were all relocated into the display.

Audi credits the cabin of its new SUV with more space than ever before, especially in terms of headroom and legroom. The rear seats can be adjusted in several ways, including tilting. A wireless and cooled phone charger, two USB-C ports at the front, and two more at the rear are also on board.

The Q5 holds on to its practical reputation. With the rear seats folded down, the trunk volume increases up to 1,473 liters.

The 2025 Audi Q5 looks more compact but is more spacious

From the outside, the all-new Q5 seems to be more compact yet sportier, displaying a muscular silhouette. A high shoulder line makes it look longer and more dynamic.

Flanking the Singleframe grille, the Matrix LED headlights with eight adjustable light signatures for the DRLs are standard. Second-generation digital OLED taillights showed up at the rear.

They are capable of displaying custom graphics, which can warn other motorists of accidents or breakdowns. They integrate six digital OLED panels with a total of 266 segments, generating a new image several times per second, based on a specially developed algorithm.

The tailpipes indicate the engine that sets the vehicle in motion. The SQ5 comes with four twin round tailpipes.

New wheels, new colors
Wheels with new designs, available in sizes of 18 or 20 inches will wear all-season run-flat tires. The SQ5 will also be available with extravagant 21-inch wheels.

Customers will be able to choose one of the three confirmation characteristics and eleven paint colors. The all-new Tambora Gray metallic joins the Arkona White solid paint finish, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Floret Silver, Navarra Blue, Grenadine Red, and District Green.

Meanwhile, Audi keeps the Ultra Blue metallic, the Daytona Grey pearl effect, and the new Sakhir Gold metallic for the S models or vehicles with the exterior S line.

The all-new Audi Q5 rolls off the production line with several driver assistance systems, such as the rear parking aid with distance display, cruise control, lane departure warning, efficiency assistance, and attention and drowsiness assistance.

Customers can also check the boxes for the optional Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus, based on high-resolution map data and swarm data from other vehicles. Active Front Assist includes Front Emergency Brake Assist, Evasion Assist, Turn Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Assist.

Meanwhile, the learning voice assistant with AI support can control various vehicle functions. The SUV is equipped with the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System, driving 16 loudspeakers with 685 watts of power. The sound system works with the Vehicle Noise Compensation to keep the experience on board as comfortable as possible.

Audi has not released any information on pricing yet. However, the entry-level version should start at around $58,000, while the SQ5 should be an $90,000 affair. The Q5 will roll off the production line of Audi's plant in San Jose Chiapa, Mexico, starting later this year.
